Mineral City Mining Co. LLC Due to road damage from Hurricane Helene, NOTICE: The road leading to the Crabtree Mine is a private road maintained by the residents that live in the area. The speed limit for the road is 15 MPH. Please drive the speed limit when coming and going from the mine. There are small children and pets that live there. NOTICE: The Crabtree Mine is private property and you must have permission AND a signed release form on file with us to be allowed on the property. All persons entering the property without having permission AND release form are illegally trespassing. The mine is now under video camera surveillance and trespassers will be prosecuted. The Crabtree Emerald Mine is one of the most famous emerald mines in North America. Located in the wild mountains of Western North Carolina, the Crabtree offers collecting opportunities for individual mineral collectors and rock clubs alike. Come spend the day with family, friends and fellow rockhounds and try your luck at finding the rare gem green emeralds which the mine is famous for. You may also find other gems and minerals all native to this site: black tourmaline (schorl), yellow beryl, green beryl, garnet, mica, feldspar, quartz, fluorite, and more.
